Dave Jenkins, Licensing Supervisor

 Dave

Dave Jenkins is CFSF’s Licensing Supervisor, overseeing the licensure of foster homes in Western Washington.  Along with his supervisory duties, Dave also licenses homes.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Psychology from City University of Seattle.

Dave has worked with children and families for the past 20 years – ten years as a youth pastor prior to joining CFSF.  Since joining CFSF he has served as one of the original CFSF board members, coordinated the Respite, Case Aide and Training programs before becoming a Licensor.

Dave believes that foster parents hold the key to the future of foster children in our state. 

 

Eastern Washington | Cory Chism, Licensor/Case Manager

Cory

Cory is a Licensor with CFSF, covering Eastern Washington.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology through Central Washington University.

Cory has worked with CFSF since 2007.  She started as a case aide, and then worked as a Case Manager, and now, Licensor.  Each position has provided her with tools and insight when working with children.

Cory believes that foster parents have the most important role because they can change a child’s life.

 

King and Pierce County | Karen Lewand, Licensor

Karen

Karen Lewand is a Licensor with CFSF, covering King County and part of Pierce County.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology through Multnomah University.

Karen has worked with children and in licensing both internationally and local for over 12 years.  She comes to CFSF with years of licensing experience, having worked as Licensing Supervisor at Catholic Community Services and a brief time as Regional Licensor with the state at the Department of Licenses Resources in Tacoma.

Karen has a heart to help and support people to become licensed and strong foster parents. As our mission states, foster parents are the ones who are rebuilding the future for us all.

 

North Puget Sound | Michael  Yu, Clinical Director/Licensor

Michael

A graduate of the University of Washington with a degree in Business and Finance, Michael worked in private wealth management at Citigroup for fifteen years prior to earning his Masters in Marital & Family Therapy at Fuller Theological Seminary in 2006. Michael has worked with couples, families, and children in his private practice at Cedar River Counseling, as well as, with families and children in crisis as a Crisis Intervention Specialist with the Children’s Crisis Outreach Response System (CCORS). Most recently, Michael worked as an Assessment Services Counselor with the Y’s Family Service and Mental Health Therapeutic Foster Care Program (BRS).
Michael joined Community and Family Services in October of 2010 as the Clinical Director of the north Puget Sound area. In addition to providing clinical oversight for our office in Burlington he is also responsible for our BRS program and licensing for all north Puget Sound homes. Michael is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and is certified as a Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS).

 

Olympic Peninsula/Pierce County | Josh Fullington, Licensor
 
Josh

Josh Fullington started working for CFSF in 2006 as a Case Aide. He worked part-time while completing his Psychology degree from the University of Washington.

Upon graduating, Josh became a full-time employee in our Mt. Vernon office, working as a Licensor and Case Manager.  A few months later he began splitting his Case Management time between the Mt. Vernon and Burien offices. 

At the beginning of 2010, Josh transferred to the Belfair office where he currently works as a full-time Licensor.  He is a certified CPR/First Aid/Blood Borne Pathogen instructor.
